As the start of summer rolls around and the weather starts to warm up, smoothies are absolutely my go-to for a post workout beverage or even for lunch! This berry smoothie is perfect for berry lovers and has a little texture from the added nuts 🙂
What you will need:
- 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
- 1 whole medium banana
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/4 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup of nuts (any mixture of almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans)
- 2 tsp of chia seeds
How to prepare the smoothie:
Add all the ingredients to the blender starting with the fruit that is softest in texture (usually bananas). This helps the blender last longer as it prevents it from overworking while blending the ingredients. Quickly pulse a few times and then blend on a high speed until all the fruit has been blended. Add in the nuts and chia seeds and blend again.
Serve in a bowl topped with granola and fruit or in your favorite glass/jar!
